AQ: the aquarium trade; profiting from the capture of Hawaiʻi's reef fish for sale in the global wildlife pet trade. AQ has been prohibited since 2017, but state officials are launching a plan to let AQ back on our reefs and take hundreds of thousands of important reef fishes each year.

We are a hui (group) of native Hawaiian families and organizations; environmental, marine conservation, and animal welfare groups; business and community leaders; and, individuals focused on permanently protecting our coral reefs and marine life from the degradation and harm caused by the aquarium pet trade.

Our kuleana (responsibility) is to care for and protect the marine life that is uniquely Hawai‘i's, is essential to coral reef health, and supports generations of fishers and families throughout Hawai‘i nei.
